About

Named for the giant who never stopped watching.

In myth, Argus Panoptes had a hundred eyes and never slept. That's the posture we bring to infrastructure: nothing unobserved, nothing left to guesswork, nothing shipped that we don't understand end to end.

What we do

Argus is a platform engineering and DevOps consultancy. We work with engineering teams that have outgrown off-the-shelf answers — where the interesting problems live in the control plane, the kernel, the network fabric, or the last 10 percent of performance that decides whether a workload is affordable.

We are generalists in the way senior infrastructure engineers are generalists: fluent from the Kubernetes API down to the CPU scheduler, and from a Terraform module up to a multi-region architecture. That range is the point. Most hard production problems don't respect layer boundaries, and neither do we.

Where we go deep

  • Kubernetes & platform architecture — control planes, multi-tenancy, operators, and developer platforms that reduce friction instead of adding it.
  • Cloud design & engineering — first-class expertise on AWS and GCP: networking, identity, reliability, and cost.
  • Deep Linux internals — scheduling, NUMA, memory, io_uring, and eBPF, because that's where the stubborn problems actually are.
  • Networking — from CNI and service mesh to RDMA fabrics and XDP dataplanes.
  • Scalability — measured, profiled, and tuned; capacity you can trust under load.
  • HPC — tightly-coupled MPI workloads, compiler and math-library tuning, and cloud HPC on hardware built for it.

How we think about the work

We measure before we change things and after. We prefer the smallest intervention that solves the real problem. And we leave your team with the understanding to keep the system healthy without us — the goal is a platform you own, not a dependency on a consultant.

Observability isn't a product you buy. It's a property of systems built by people who insisted on understanding them.
